Great fall weekend stay at the Good Abode. Home was unique, cozy and had everything we needed for a multigenerational stay. Host was responsive and had great local recommendations. Easy access to Portland while still feeling away from it all. Would stay again

Beautiful home and really appreciated how clean the bathrooms and bedroom were. The bed was comfortable and the location was great if you want to visit Higgins Beach and Portland.

The property was located close to Portland but far enough away to avoid parking and traffic issues. The house was well appointed and very clean upon arrival.

Delightful place to spend the weekend for a nearby family wedding.

A beautiful stay! The home was unique, homey, and perfect for our girls trip. The description is accurate and outdoor spaces were too die for. About 20 min to downtown but we had no problems getting Ubers. Would recommend!

The house is located in a beautiful spot, convenient to everything but still private. Tastefully updated inside, we found it a great place to spend the weekend while we were in the area for a friend's wedding. The house had everything we needed. We'd definately stay again!

I had a wonderful stay at Cates Abode! It was such a cute and private space that was perfect for a little get away. There were many places nearby within a 15ish minute drive like Old Orchard beach. Her place was very well taken care of and offered everything you need for a quick trip!

Cate was tremendously helpful and super responsive. The farmhouse is beautiful and spacious, with gorgeous gardens. It is close to everything. Highly recommend!

I was relieved there were no strong fragrances or detergents used. I normally bring my own pillow and sheets to Airbnbs because I can't stand the smell of fragrance detergents. I was relieved that the house did not have any! The house is about 8 minutes from the beach, which the dogs loved. Loved the eclectic interior of the space. The best part was that it was dog-friendly. Thank you for allowing our fur babies in your home! The gardens were exquisite, and I especially loved the pollinator meadow area with the trail. All really nice touches.

We had an amazing stay! The house was beautiful and so uniquely decorated. it had such a fun, artsy vibe that made it feel really special. Tons of great books to enjoy too!! The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Cate was responsive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. The location was perfect too, making it easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. We’d definitely stay here again!

Excellent hosts! Charming historic home with a few old-house quirks. Cate and Hutch were very responsive and hospitable. When we arrived during a heat wave, we realized the historic home's AC setup (one portable unit downstairs and one window unit in the master) wasn't quite enough for the other bedrooms. Hutch was incredibly helpful and installed another window unit the very next day to keep us comfortable. The home is definitely vintage and full of character, surrounded by beautiful woods (so keep an eye out for nature and bugs!). It does have some rustic quirks, like a tight front door and a distinct smell to the tap water, but it's a very unique place to experience a vintage home. House is very well ventilated. It’s also in a convenient location, just 20 minutes from Portland's Old Port. If you love history and vintage charm, you will enjoy your stay here!

The house is very cute and homey, and the yard was plenty big for us to enjoy (short walk, fire pit, lawn chairs). I love plants and animals and enjoyed both around the house. We encountered a flock of ducks on their afternoon stroll, and we got to wave at the horses from across the street. The house is an older country house with lots of character. Could get creepy at night with how dark it gets outside but plenty of lights and lamps in the house. We enjoyed the tv for movie nights and large kitchen table for dinner. The beds are a bit soft for us personally but perfectly fine and clean. Loved all the books! If you’re looking for a quiet getaway that’s not too far from modern amenities, stay here! Coffee is not included, but aroma joes is 4 mins away. :)

Panic stricken and slightly exasperated from the previous rental we were currently in. I reached out to Cate in hopes that her rental would be available so that we could leave our no hot water not running refrigeration rental home and continue our vacation. To our luck Cate called me right away was able to make it available for us the next day. I am forever grateful for her and her beautiful. It was stylish, comfortable, with enough seating and bedding for our family. Room for our kids to run outside and watch the neighbors ducks. I would highly recommend and will definitely be looking to stay next year! Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

We appreciated the peaceful location. The house had everything we needed and it was within short driving distance to lots of parks and restaurants.

Cate’s home was charming, had tons of character, all the essentials were there. As a host, Cate was super responsive and even the cleaners (caught them in passing) were extremely friendly. It’s a great location and close to Portland and other great Maine destinations. Definitely a spot we’re putting on the list to return to.

My parents and I stayed for a few days while visiting my grandfather in a hospice facility. Cate’s house was the perfect place for us to land after some very tough and draining days. You can feel the love that was poured into the house, from the incredible furnishings and decor, to the convenient modern updates, the beautiful landscaping, and thoughtful guest instructions. Cate was so welcoming and very quick to answer any questions, including when we needed to extend our stay. We had everything we needed to unwind in a cozy beautiful home during a difficult time and I will forever be grateful.

As first-timers to Maine, Cate’s place was the perfect spot. Cozy, beautifully decorated and organized, and so quintessentially Maine! We didn’t spend much time home during the day as we were out exploring and eating our weight in lobster, but it was a treat to come home each night to somewhere that felt like home, even if temporarily. My mother and family stayed and had the best time, so much so my mom extended it a night. The hosts were the best, flexible, and responsive. Cannot recommend enough!

From the time I booked the reservations for the Air BnB Cate stayed in constant contact with me via email. Once we checked in Cate was in constant contact to make that we had everything that we needed. There was one small issue but Cate was right on top of it and had the issue fixed immediately. Very relaxing atmosphere and a very well kept house. I would definitely stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cate’s charming home in Scarborough. It was close enough to explore Portland without the stresses of the city and provided a cozy space to relax and refresh after a long day. The Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center is nearby for nature lovers and a great kayaking experience! The sofas and beds are comfortable, bathrooms are clean with good water pressure, and there’s filtered water available in the kitchen. We really enjoyed the decor throughout the home and look forward to staying again in the future! Thank you!

We had a wonderful visit at the Good Bones Abode. We were grateful to find such a peaceful home that allowed us to travel with our dog. And the location was great and made a great home base for day trips to explore the beauty of southern Maine.

We had an awesome stay at The Good Bones Abode. It was perfect for our family and 2 furry friends. The farm house is adorable and there was plenty of space, very comfortable beds and a kitchen that met all our needs. Cate and Hutch are wonderful hosts and Cate responded promptly to any questions we had. She also has fantastic ideas of things to see and do in the area. We loved the fact that it was easy to get to the beach or other places relatively quickly but was away from the hustle and bustle of town. The family is already wanting to plan a trip to stay there again next year.

The home was an absolute DREAM!!! Beautiful and peaceful. We were able to bring our puppies and they had room to run and were safe. Our son arrived hours before us and Cate made sure he was able to get into the home and felt safe and was happy with the local restaurants he was able to order from. We loved it here so much that we moved into the poet's nook that's connected to the home for an extra night once the puppies were safe in their new homes and we were just us 4 again 😃 Many thanks and 🧡 for Cate and Hutch!

We had a great stay at Cate & Hutch’s place. Lovely home beautifully renovated. Easy to community with hosts. Outstanding location close to the ocean and Portland.

Check-in on booking was 2PM, changed to 4PM on Final Instructions. House was not prepared/cleaned when we arrived after 4PM. Owner did not respond to our message about the condition of the house for 3 hours. We were required to book last minute accommodations for 5 adults on Saturday night in the Portland area at great expense before attending a show which started at 7 PM in the Cross Insurance Arena. Response from Owner received at 7:24 PM while we were in the show (did not see it until after the show ended about 9 PM). Owner did offer to have house cleaned for our use on a gratis basis, but offer was made too late. Received a full refund from Airbnb, but alternative accommodations cost us $360 more. Extremely disappointing.

Beautiful older home with lots of character. Comfy beds, updated appliances, well manicured gardens and pretty outdoor sitting area. Close location to the interstate and urban areas, yet in a lovely country setting.

Great place with a lot of room and a great collection of books. It was the perfect place for us to stay in while we visited Old Orchard Beach and Portland during the day. The beds were extremely comfortable and it’s very quiet at night.

While we were not there very long we did enjoy our stay! The inside was rustic and beautifully decorated and the outside was whimsical with flowers galore! We would definitely love to stay again if ever in the area!

We enjoyed this well kept property with beautiful gardens. It was very pet friendly with a nice back yard area. We cooked steak on the grill one night.

Great getaway retreat. Beautiful surroundings, close beaches, a mall, and restaurants. Perfect if you're looking to explore and come back to a nice hideaway. The beds were clean and comfortable. Felt safe and at home.
